Protocol - The Hub - Primary Ballet/ Tap
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO CLASS IF THEY HAVE A TEMPERATURE OR ARE FEELING UNWELL.
- Parents and children to queue outside the main door 2m apart. You should not have to queue for long as our assistant will be ready to pick the dancers up at the class start time or a little before, take them in and come back for the next one relatively quickly.
- Children to be dressed ready to dance but wearing their outdoor shoes and coat or jumper.
- They will have their temperature checked before coming upstairs.
- Assistant will take children upstairs where they can put their coat/jumper and outdoor shoes in a plastic bag which they bring with them. They must be able to put on and take off their outdoor shoes independently, please consider this when buying school shoes or bring them to dance class in alternative slip on shoes. Ballet and tap shoes must be brought in in a small bag which they may bring in to class with them along with their water bottle if they want/need one. PLEASE REMOVE TAP LACES UNLESS THEY ARE ABLE TO DO THESE THEMSELVES. REPLACE THESE WITH ELASTICS SO THAT YOUR CHILD CAN EASILY CHANGE IN AND OUT OF THEIR TAP SHOES INDEPENDENTLY. Capezio make tap shoes with an elastic which does not require use of the laces so these may be worth considering if you are buying new. https://www.movedancewear.com/capezio-junior-tyette-925-tap-shoe-black-p94/ They are £17.
- Once everyone is in, if a dancer needs the toilet the assistant will take them one at a time to the toilets. There is a one way system in place for this and the toilets are cleaned hourly when the space is in use.
- Please help them to practice changing from their tap shoes into their ballet shoes. REMEMBER TO TIE THE BOWS ON YOUR CHILD’S BALLET SHOES WITH THEIR FEET IN THEM AND STANDING UP, MAKE SURE YOU CAN STILL GET THEM ON AND OFF AND THEN SECURE THE BOW WITH CLEAR NAIL POLISH. This will stop them coming undone during class.
- The bifolding doors in the studio and vents will be kept open for ventilation if weather permits.
- At the end of class the children will be taken to their bag, change into their outdoor shoes and take their plastic bag with their coat in, they will be brought to you to collect from the side door. The side door can be found to the left of the building, go round the corner where there is extra parking and you will find it. Please be prompt for pick up and adhere to social distancing.
- If you do need to come up to the studio for any reason there is a well sign-posted system in place on the stairs; up on the left, down on the left with priority to those coming down.
- All touch points will be cleaned between classes;
- Main doors, shoe boxes, toilet doors, flushes and taps and floors.
- The Hub have been incredible when it comes to following government guidelines and looking after the safety of their dancers so I am confident in our safety using this space.
